As I have said before, only a third in the Land will survive the coming of Gog and Magog and then Ezekiel’s Fire. However, I fear the Hebrew word that God uses for Land.
The word that we would normally use for ground or plot of land is אדמה (ah-dah-mah). That’s the physical land and how Adam got his name, because he was taken from the ground. The word that Zechariah 13:8 uses is completely different. It uses הארץ (ha-ah-retz) the land in terms of area or the earth as a whole. And that’s the scary part, because we know that God does all these things to the rest of the world at the same time.
Furthermore, when you read Genesis 1, every time you see the word ‘land’ and ‘earth’ it’s always ha’ahretz or eretz – except for one time when it say ‘dry land’, the word ‘land’ is omitted. Only in verse 25 do we see the word ahdamah, when it talks about every thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So, this use of ha’aretz in Zechariah 13:8, where it says:
that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die
Saying ‘in all the land’ sounds a lot like all the world. And, we have seen God do to the rest of the world, what He does to Israel in judgment for their sins. And, as we saw in Ezekiel’s Fire, billions will die. It is easy to see that some countries will have more than two thirds killed. Some, less.
But, will God purify the nations that survive and call them His own people?
If so, it would be the greatest revival in the history of mankind. And, I don’t think that this will happen. However, I do believe that the Christians who survive will come out of this with a stronger faith, and a stronger willingness to follow God. But, let’s get to the purification process that God is talking about. And, we’ll start in Isaiah.
Prophecy To Jerusalem
Isaiah 1:21-31 Prophecy To Jerusalem
https://israelsaved.com/isaiah-1_21-31-prophecy-to-jerusalem/
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.
Isaiah 1 starts out talking about how awful Judah is, and then goes on to talk about how degenerate Jerusalem is. But then, the tone changes. God talks about taking vengeance upon His enemies and getting rid of His adversaries. And yes, that means killing them.
Of course, we’ve seen this happen more than once to Jerusalem. But there is something that has not happened yet:
Restoring Jerusalem to be a city of righteousness, and a faithful city.
Even when Jerusalem was being rebuilt, it still wasn’t a city of righteousness or a faithful city. When we get down to Zechariah, who will also talk about Israel’s purification. But as we do that, remember that Jesus said that Zechariah was murdered by the very same people who had built the temple and were building the city. (Matthew 23:35 and Luke 11:51)
Oh, and when it says this:
they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed
That will definitely happen in the rest of the world. And, this is precisely why I write all of this. I don’t want you to be one of those who are consumed. Pay attention to what God is telling us in the prophets. Too many are not listening to God, and they will be destroyed for that.
Jerusalem and Israel Redeemed
Isaiah 3:13-4:6 Jerusalem and Israel Redeemed
https://israelsaved.com/isaiah-3_13-4_6-jerusalem-and-israel-redeemed/
2 In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
Translation Note: Again, there is not branch if verse two. The word is tsemach, or plant or sometimes sprout. It does NOT mean branch. I can’t find any words in Hebrew where they use any form of צמח (tseh-mach, ch as in Bach). If you tell an Israeli that you want a tsemach, he will give you a plant – probably in a pot.
Has there been any time where the plant of the Lord is beautiful and glorious in Jerusalem?
Jerusalem may have been righteous for a short time during the reign of the Hasmonean Dynasty, until they started killing each other. They certainly weren’t righteous at the time of Jesus, and they weren’t righteous when they murdered Zechariah.
So, when will the Lord wash away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleanse Jerusalem?
Well, we’ve already answered that question many times, and it will be at the coming of Gog and Magog and Ezekiel’s Fire.
And, how is it done?
By the spirit of judgment and burning.
This will not be a gentle cleansing and purification. It will be harsh and deadly.
Now, I left out verse five. It’s in the link but not in the scriptures above. Here it is:
Isaiah 4:5 And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
Does this mean that the purification of Jerusalem happens at Armageddon at the end of the Great Tribulation?
No, because the coming of Gog and Magog are part of the Last Days events that will lead us to verse five.
Do you remember what happen in Seal Six?
That looks exactly like the aftermath of Gog and Magog and hours after Ezekiel’s Fire. And then, after the Great Tribulation has ended and the Millennium begun, we will see verse five.
Remember that God’s timing is not like our own.
Redemption Of Israel
Zechariah 13 Redemption Of Israel
https://israelsaved.com/zechariah-13-redemption-of-israel/
1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
[We know from chapter 12, that their redemption is through faith in Jesus Christ, but this is where they go through the purification process. And, only those who call upon God for help will be in the one third that survives. The rebels will be destroyed.]
In chapter 12, Israel accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Those who do not, will die. But, it will be chapter 13 where Israel is purified in the same kind of harsh process that silver and gold are purified. The rebels will be destroyed, and those that God has chosen for salvation will call on His name, and God will hear them.
And, I’m afraid that billions across the world will die as well. They also might also be purified. There may even be people who come to Christ because they have seen prophecy fulfilled. There is a lot of unknowns here.
We know that a third of Israelis will be purified, and we know that billions will die across our globe.
