General Salvation

All the passages on this website have a strong connection to the Redemption of Israel, and I have separated them into subcategories that play their own role in how God brings the Children of Jacob back to Himself and makes Israel His own, once again. But, these stand on their own, speaking of God’s intentions toward the people of the promise – the one that He made to his friend Abraham.

Jacob Blessed

Isaiah 44:1-8 Jacob Blessed
https://israelsaved.com/isaiah-44_1-8-jacob-blessed/

1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

2 Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

5 One shall say, I am the Lord’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

When Jacob set out to find a wife for himself, he was not a follower of God. But, that first night of his journey, as he slept, God sent him a vision, giving him the same promises that He gave Arbraham.

Jacob woke up unconvinced, but said:

20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

21 So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:

 – Genesis 28:20-21 (KJV)

That isn’t much of a ‘salvation experience’, and I would doubt the salvation of anyone who made such a promise – until I saw evidence that his salvation was real. But, it did turn out to be real, and God changed his name to Israel, and Israel accepted his new name and followed God.

So, when I hear God refer to the people of Israel as Jacob, I hear the echo of Jacob’s lack of faith until he chose to follow God.

Notice also what God says to the children of Jacob. God says that He will pour out His Spirit upon them. And, what does the Lord call Himself? The King of Israel and the Redeemer of Israel. And, does the Lord of Hosts call Himself?

The First and the Last.

What did Jesus say to John in Revelation?

He called Himself the Alpha and Omega.

Those are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet.

What do we say in Hebrew?

We call Yeshua, ha’Aleph v’Tav.

Transgression Forgiven

Isaiah 44:21-23 Transgression Forgiven
https://israelsaved.com/isaiah-44_21-23-transgression-forgiven/

21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

The fake Christians who hate Israel and would claim their promises for themselves, have forgotten that God has not forgotten the children of Jacob. When Isaiah wrote this, Israel never gave God glory. Yes, there were moments in time in which Israel was faithful to God. But, they still wound up murdering poor Zechariah ben Berechiah.

They still corrupted themselves with the Hellenism of Alexander the Great and the perverse traditions of Rome. And, those who were supposed to be righteous of God, the Perushim (Pharisees) and the Ts’dukim (Saducees), corrupted the teachings of God – so much so that John the Baptist called them a generation of vipers. Jesus also called them serpents and vipers and went further, calling them hypocrites and whited sepulchers.

According to Torah, for those who don’t know, if you touch the tomb with a dead body inside, or walk over a person’s grave, you have become unclean. And, if you don’t know that you have done this, and do not purify yourself, everything that you touch also becomes unclean and must be purified.

Calling someone a whited sepulcher means that they appear to be clean but are not, and every one they touch becomes unclean. And, I’m afraid that we have many ‘whited sepulchers’ standing behind the pulpit on Sundays.

Israel Redeemed

Isaiah 45:14-25 Israel Redeemed
https://israelsaved.com/isaiah-45_14-25-israel-redeemed/

14 Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.

15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Translation Note: The original Hebrew does not say ‘world without end’. It says עד עולמי עד (Ahd Ohl-Mai Ahd). The first word Ahd means ‘unto’ or ‘until’, but the second Ahd doesn’t. Why? In Hebrew, position is EVERYTHING. The second word, Olmai is plural. And Olam sometimes means world, but that puts us in a quandary. If it meant world, it should say ‘unto worlds without end’. The second word Ahd means forever or never ending. And Worlds Without End has a great ring to it, but the more straightforward meaning is Forever And Ever.

Verse 15 is interesting. After verse 14 says that everyone will come to them, saying that God is with Israel, verse 15 says that God is One who hides Himself. And in my 50+ years of following Christ, I can tell you that this is very true. God hides Himself from those who do not wish to see, and shows Himself to those who wish to follow Him. But, Isaiah doesn’t end there.

Isaiah says that God will save Israel with and everlasting salvation. And, there is only one everlasting salvation – faith in Jesus Christ. And, when they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, their salvation will never fail.

Salvation In Zion

Isaiah 46:3-4,9-13 Salvation in Zion
https://israelsaved.com/isaiah-46_3-4_9-13-salvation-in-zion/

3 Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:

4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

12 Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:

13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

When you look at a prophet like Isaiah, who prophesied before the Babylonian captivity, it’s easy to pass off verses like this as God pleading with Israel to return to Him. But He speaks of placing His salvation in Zion, for Israel His glory.

Unfortunately, we have yet to see Israel truly glorify God. Only for a brief moment in time under the Hasmonean Kings did we have little more than a generation of righteousness that glorified God. And, they quickly fell into infighting, civil war and absolute corruption.

No, the only time that God will place salvation in Zion for Israel His glory, will be when God Redeems Israel in the fantastic way that He decreed through the prophets.

Having said that, we were also redeemed in a fantastic way, by a Man who was God who died on a Cross that we might have eternal life. And, we are grateful for what He did for us.
